More Info.

As noted earlier, Casey Key is in the southern half of Sarasota County. Its location provides easy access to a rich variety of cultural, sports and business attractions. This part of the state is often referred to as the “culture coast.” Sarasota has its own symphony and opera company. The outstanding Ringling Museum of Art, the Ringling School of Art and Design, and numerous galleries provide exceptional infrastructure for an active and lively community of artists and patrons. The Van Wezel Center for the Performing Arts offers appearances by internationally acclaimed performers and musicians that span virtually every genre of music, from classical to jazz to country and western. Live theatre is also an important part of the Sarasota cultural scene. The renowned Asolo Theatre, the Florida Studio Theatre, and several other venues for the performing arts are easily accessible in the City of Sarasota, from about 15 to 20 miles north of Casey Key.

Sports fans can watch the pros in baseball, football and hockey by availing themselves of the facilities in Tampa and St. Petersburg, both within an hours drive or a little more, from Sarasota. And right here in Sarasota is the spring training home of the Cincinatti Reds. Our visitors often make a day or overnight trip to Disney World in Orlando, where it’s also possible to see a game of professional basketball when the Orlando Magic team is at home.

Good restaurants, shopping and higher education institutions also abound in the Sarasota area, and contribute to its growing reputation as one of the best places in the United States to play and to live.
